ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
- Established Soup Kitchen in summer of 2022 serving an average of 400 meals monthly to homeless and low-moderate income individuals
- Food Pantry serving over 200 low-moderate income families per month
- Sponsored 30 food distribution events (during Covid-19 season), providing over 15,000 bags of non-perishable and fresh produce items to residents of southwest Houston and the District K community
- Thanksgiving Share Baskets to over 600 families in southwest Houston and District K community since 2021
- 2024 HISD Community Job Fair partner – sponsored hospitality room for over 40 employers and event volunteers; over 170 applicants attended resulting in multiple hiring opportunities
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & OUTREACH
- Supplied over 1,000 elementary and middle school students with school uniforms, supplies, backpacks, undergarments and personal hygiene items since 2021.
- Partnered with local Blessings in A Backpack community leader to fund over 200 weekend meals to underserved students
- Sponsored Teacher Appreciation events (pizza parties, dessert stations, etc.) for over 300 teachers at several District K elementary and middle schools
- Sponsored District K Fire Station Appreciation event in Spring 2026; provided beverage and healthy snack care packages to fire station leadership.
A Mind To Work CDC supporting NFC for their annual Community Service event, and donated funds to support their fresh fruit and vegetables bags.
